Vegas Trip!

It was time for Bret's monthly meetings in Las Vegas.
So . . . since the kids didn't have school . . .
we decided to tag along!

We swam, ate out every night,
swam some more, watched movies,
took care of Tyler and Katy when they had the barfs,
swam a little more, went to Circus~Circus
and hit the Cheesecake Factory!!!

Boy was it fun!

On the Frogger ride at Circus~Circus!

Bret and I were a little worried

about loosing someone in all the Vegas shuffle . . .

so we made the kids follow each other

in a train the whole time we were there.

Bret was in the lead and I took up the tail end.

Spongebob!?

Helicopters!

Airplanes! What more could you ask for?

We couldn't leave the big city without hitting

The Cheesecake Factory!

We had a little Lettuce Wraps,

Herb Crusted Salmon,

Steak Medallions,

Bowtie Pasta,

Pizza and of course . . .

CHEESECAKE!

Mmmmmm!

Thank you Dad for inviting us

to come along!

We are so lucky to have you.

Neighborhood Water Fight

There is nothing funner

than a good ol'

neighborhood water fight!

First, they split up into 2 teams --

Then they

prepared their water balloons

for launching.

Katy was a little disappointed

that her team didn't have

half as many balloons as the other team.

Bean Museum

Another Field Trip Day Update!

We went to the Bean Museum

and boy was it fun!

After we checked out a few of these animals

and took some pictures,

Jenny begged and begged to take some of her own pictures.

I finally gave in and let her run with the camera.

I'm not sure who she is . . .

but at least Beana still made it in the picture!

But the kids had tons of fun!

Sundance Field Trip

Our first family field trip

this summer was going up to

Sundance for a picnic!

As soon as we sat down to eat,

we saw a deer walk by about 20 feet away,

a squirrel ran up the tree we were sitting under,

and another squirrel poked his head out

from the deck behind us to say hello.

It wasn't long beforeJenny declared,

"THIS IS A SCARY PLACE!"

But after walking around, and doing a little exploring,

Jenny realized it wasn't so "bad".

She even commented that it was a lot like Wallsburg!

We loved it! It was a beautiful day!

Shawn even agreed by giving us

some funny faces!

. . . and lately we can't take pictures

with out a funny one . . .

I showed the kids where Bret and I

had our big wedding dinner,

we played in the water, and hiked the trails.

It was a fun day to be in the mountains all together!

Utah Lake Field Trip

Katy, Shawn and I had so much fun today!

We went to Utah Lake for one of

Katy's Preschool Field Trips.

This is Katy with her friend Halle!

What cute girls!!!

First we found some ducks (and geese)

and gave them a little popcorn.

. . . watching Katy feed the ducks!




Then Katy ran in some races with her friends.
They ran, skipped, hopped, and ran backwards.
I could tell she loved it because
she had a big smile the whole time!




They played on the playground for awhile
and then we ate our sack lunch.
YUM!

It was great to be out in a little sunshine!

Signs of Summer

Well . . . We have definitely had some

signs of Summer at our house.

We have flowers peeking through in the yard,

the shorts have been pulled out of the drawers,

and as you can see below,

we've already had some scraped knees.

This was only the first of about four scrapes in one week.

Hang in there Kate! Summer is coming!

6 Months Old Already?

Shawn will be six months old soon!

We just took these pictures this morning

so everyone can see how big Shawn is getting!

Where does the time go?

It broke Mom's heart to start feeding Shawn

baby cereal a while back,

Now he's chowing it so fast she can't keep up with him.

He smiles and laughes all the time.

There is rarely a time when he doesn't smile at everyone.

At church on Sunday, Bret had to leave Elder's Quorum

because Buddy was talking so loud!

Normally I wouldn't believe Bret for this kind of excuse,

but I have to admit, this time I wasn't surprised! :)

Shawn loves to hold toys and

watch what's happening all around him.

But his favorite thing is sucking on his hands.

We are still amazed at how much of his hand

he can get in his mouth!

What's the deal?

We realized the other day that

Shawn is starting to be a mover!

He started rolling around on my bed after taking a nap,

so now we've got to keep a closer eye on him!
It's not going to be long before we are chasing him

up and down the stairs!

Shawn loves his Brother and Sisters!

He loves to play with Katy all day long!

She is such a big help getting his binkie and diapers and toys.

What would we do without her?!

Jenny is like an extra mom!

She can hold him and walk with him,

change his pants, help him go to sleep . . .

In fact, some mornings she gets him out of bed

before I hear him and plays with him

for a while so I can get a few extra ZZZs!

Jenny is amazing!

And Tyler . . .

He can make Shawn laugh harder then any of us.

I think there is something between those two . . .

It must be brother thing ;)

Happy 1/2 Birthday!

We have loved every second so far and

we are excited for new days to come!

Classic Skating

Jen and Emme loved skating to

"Hips don't lie" and "Bad Day!"

They even got some Cheetah girl moves in! :)

These two managed to run around the rink

without skates the whole night. They were crazy!
